POSTCARDS FROM A DAYDREAM

Postcards from a Daydream offers a different way of seeing Mallorca — through the eyes of two artists from distant continents, in a creative process developed during a shared residency on the island.
It is not just an exhibition — it is a sensory experience, featuring a floral installation created with elements gathered from the BonSol gardens, infused with scents and colours inspired by the beauty of the Mediterranean spirit.

Everything began as an intuition that later became reality: the Artist Residency.
The idea of creating this artistic residency arrived at Hotel BonSol through a very special person — Catalina Tejero, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at IE University in Madrid.

The project came to life thanks to the perseverance of BonSol’s third generation, Natalia Xamena, and the magical synergy with Hôtel Magique, the international art and design platform founded by Milou Neelen. Hôtel Magique not only contributed its aesthetic and artistic vision, but also its global community of followers and artists, which allowed the open call for the residency to achieve remarkable reach — receiving over 900 applications.

Thanks to the generosity of people such as Catalina, Milou, and the jury of this first edition — made up of outstanding professionals including David Barro (Director of Es Baluard Museum), Fran Reus (gallerist and President of Art Palma Contemporánea), and gallerists such as Pep Llabrés and Biel Perelló, among others — the residency took shape with strength, rigour, and depth.

The residency has become a natural extension of the hotel’s soul.
Its corridors, sunlit terraces, and history-covered walls welcome artists who engage in dialogue with their surroundings. Art has merged with daily life at BonSol — guests have seen artists at work, sharing meals, finding inspiration — creating a very special atmosphere, intimate yet deeply creative.

The winners of the first “Call for Artists” by BonSol were Nicole Nelius and Bradley Wood — two different visions of the world and of art, two distinct styles united by Mallorca, by the harmony of its places and the moods experienced during their stay at the hotel. In their work, Mallorca is shown renewed and ever-inspiring, through portraits of the people and landscapes encountered and captured on canvas.

“This exhibition is a postcard from that experience — a reflection on energy and calm, surrender and renewal, and on the deep connection between creation and place.”

Their works will be exhibited on October 23 at Galería Marimón, in an ongoing dialogue with the journals, writings, and emotional records produced during their stay. The artists have shared meals, conversations, and quiet moments with hotel guests — and now present their creations to a wider audience, even beyond the walls of Hotel BonSol.

We look forward to seeing you:
