Alpargatería la Concepción
In 1940, a family from Menorca who owned a small grocery store decided to transform their shop into an espadrille workshop, having been the first to bring Menorcan avarcas to the island of Mallorca.
Over the years, María Visitación began working with the owner, Jerónima Fernández Pons. Upon the latter’s late retirement, María, together with her daughter Aurora, took over the business transfer. Since then, they have been fighting for Balearic and Spanish craftsmanship — increasingly rare — striving to preserve the essence and heritage of a small, historic, and emblematic business like the espadrille workshop La Concepción.
