THE FUTURE IS TO RETURN

One of the fundamental rules of writing is to make yourself understood by readers — never taking anything for granted. For those unfamiliar, Condé Nast Publications is the holy grail of magazine publishers, with a portfolio that ranges from Vogue to Vanity Fair, from Bon Appétit to AD Architectural Digest, and even includes magazines on golf, music, and technology.

Condé Nast Traveler is the Ferrari (forgive the patriotism) of travel magazines. Just touching it gives you the sense of holding something precious — a magazine that becomes part of your décor once placed on a table, and one you can hardly set aside once you've started reading. Its platinum-colored cover hints at destinations one dreams of discovering and visiting. Who knows how many journeys have begun, at least in spirit, within its pages? How many readers have let themselves be swept away by its beautiful photographs and stories? How many, after closing the magazine, have turned an idea into a plane ticket? Let’s hope many!

This month, Condé Nast Traveler has chosen to tell our story — the story of a family-run hotel that has been operating for over seventy years, maintaining an unwavering tradition of hospitality through the decades. Perhaps the key to this unexpected feature lies in a phrase coined in 2022 by Condé Nast Traveler’s Head of Content, David Moralejo, in the December editorial that year. As the tourism sector emerged from the harsh months of the pandemic, his words offered hope and a renewed outlook for the world of travel, sketching a new season ahead:
THE FUTURE IS TO RETURN.

“At Condé Nast Traveler, we believe that the future is to return — that tomorrow will be better if today we strive to recover the things from the past that made us better. It’s not about clinging to nostalgia, but about recognizing that trains are experiencing new golden days, that once-overlooked destinations increasingly offset the frenzy of mass tourism, and that hotels understand that connection isn’t just about offering Wi-Fi, but about engaging with the local culture.”

In many ways, these words speak to us — hotels with as much future ahead as history behind them. We feel them deeply, and they capture part of the soul of our work.

Thank you Condé Nast Traveler for featuring Hotel Bonsol Resort & Spa in your pages. Thank you for falling in love with our small family story. And thank you again, David Moralejo, for telling it.

As for us, we will continue working hard, season after season, to remain what we’ve always been:
a family since 1953, moving forward but always with an eye on the past.
