YELLOW

When I say the word YELLOW, I can’t help but think of Hotel BonSol — of its small cove overlooking the beautiful sea of Illetas, with its umbrellas, towels, floaties, and air mattresses all strictly YELLOW.

A warm ochre yellow that evokes the iconic coastal summers of the past.

Actually, now that I think about it, even before BonSol, the first thing that comes to mind is Coldplay’s song Yellow — “Look at the stars, look how they shine for you, and everything you do, they were all yellow...” This song could easily be considered the perfect soundtrack for our BonSol.

Picture the little cove — naturally scenic — bathed in yellow tones, with that Coldplay melody gently playing in the background. It makes me want to buy the Yellow vinyl and play it on a record player, just to recreate that atmosphere — visually and musically — in full yellow.

Yellow is a primary color — bright, warm, and joyful.
It’s the color of happiness. The color of gold, and therefore associated with value.
It’s exciting. It’s the color of the sun, so it symbolizes energy.

For many people (and we can’t help but agree), yellow is the color of summer.
That connection between the color and the season likely comes from the fact that it’s one of the seven colors of the solar spectrum — the color of light, of sun, of the warmth we receive from it.

Traditionally, as I mentioned, yellow represents happiness, hope, positivity, energy, and optimism. It’s joy and cheerfulness, lightheartedness and good mood. In Eastern cultures, it represents wisdom — and in China, it is said that those who welcome yellow into their lives will receive good things.

From a spiritual perspective, yellow is linked to the third chakra: the Solar Plexus, the chakra of personal power. It’s said to be a color that connects to one’s strength and belief in personal potential.

There are more than 40 shades of yellow in nature — but we like to think there are actually 41.
Because BonSol yellow has earned its own place — a signature hue that serves as a joyful and nostalgic cue for remembering beautiful holidays in this little corner of paradise.
